Tripartite Forum Colouring Contest
The Culture and Heritage Committee is promoting Mi’kmaw language through the Mi’kmaq Maliseet Nations News. Each month, Mi’kmaq Maliseet Nations News features a picture drawn by artist Gerald Gloade written in Mi’kmaq.
We want our youth to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn our language while having some fun. Simply colour the drawings and send them to Gerald at The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq. Each month, the Culture and Language Mi’kmaw Language sub-committee will decide on a lucky winner. The winner or winners will receive a prize from the Tripartite Forum while everybody receives the best prize – learning our language!
You can download the current colouring sheet here. You can also download sheets from October, November and December 2011.
Mi'kmaw Place Names project featured on CTV Morning Live!

Welcome Message from Executive Chair Morley Googoo,
AFN Regional Chief for Nova Scotia-Newfoundland
Kwé aqq Pjila'si! (Hello and Welcome)
It is my pleasure as the newly appointed Tripartite Forum Executive Chair to welcome you to the Mi’kmaq • Nova Scotia • Canada Tripartite Forum website. We are pleased that you have taken the time to learn more about the important working relationship the Mi’kmaq of Nova Scotia have developed with our government partners, the Nova Scotia Office of Aboriginal Affairs and the Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC), formerly known as Indian and Northern Affairs Canada.
In this website you will find important information which sets out the purpose of the Tripartite Forum as well as our identified priorities in four key areas: individual and community capacity, skill development and labour force participation; youth employment, governance participation and physical activity; community plans, priorities and input; and improved relationships through the achievement of jurisdictional clarity.
My role as Executive Chair will be to facilitate and chair Executive, Officials, Steering Committee and Working Committee meetings. I look forward to making connections among the individuals, organizations, and issues while ensuring fair allocation of time available and fostering collective and professional exchange.
I encourage you to browse through the various sections of this website, as it offers a calendar of events, committee updates, reports, media releases, photos, employment opportunities, an interactive language page, and links to other First Nation organizations. For your convenience we have included a downloadable Tripartite Forum newsletter, which is published quarterly. Here you will find important updates and news on Tripartite Forum projects and activities.
If you have any questions or comments, please visit our contacts page and get in touch with the Tripartite Forum members, who will be pleased to assist you.
We’lalin and thank you very much for your time.
Yours in Unity,
