The Tripartite Forum Culture and Heritage Working Committee is gathering information on the Bedford Barrens Petroglyph Site.

The Bedford Barrens are images carved in stone in a wooded area just outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Mi’kmaq are believed to have gathered in this area in the past. The aim of the project is to record any information or oral history on the Bedford Barrens Petroglyh Site or the Bedford area.

Claire Poirier has been hired to conduct research and gather information on the Site. She has been busy meeting with community members, conducting interviews and gathering information in 12 of the 13 communities. If you were unable to attend one of her sessions, but have some information you would like to be recorded, please complete the survey. The survey can be mailed to:

How does the chance of winning an MP3 Player Sound?

The Mi’kmaq – Nova Scotia – Canada Tripartite Forum was formed in 1997 as a partnership between the Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq, the Province of Nova Scotia and the Government of Canada, to strengthen relationships and resolve issues of mutual concern affecting Mi’kmaw communities.
